Kids’ Diversion

Kids’ Diversion

Two weeks ago, my husband and I went to Cebu City, leaving our kids at the care of my sister and the nanny. Five days before we left, I conditioned them that we will be travelling for a while and not slept with them for 2 nights. It was hard for me to leave them because it was the first time that both of us would be out overnight and not sleep with them. However, even if it breaks my heart, I need to fight my feelings because my husband wanted to go with me in Cebu to attend the burial of my boss’ father. Shortly before we left the house, Jojo surprised the kids with their favorite angry birds toy as a way to divert their attention and not be upset being left by us. It was indeed of great help because they did not cry when we stepped out of our doorstep as

Seemingly Twins

Seemingly-Twins

At the first glance of this photo, some people would think that our kids are twins. Just as they have always been mistaken to be twins whenever we went out to malls and they were wearing the same style and color of clothing. Well, the truth is they are not really twins. They just look similar at least for some people’s eyes. Their age gap is about 1 ½ year. But for me and my husband, they don’t’ really look the same. They have different body structures. Our eldest son has a slender structure while the youngest has a chubby built.

Loving and Caring for Each Other

Loving-and-Caring

Look at our kids. They are so sweet. It melts my heart to see them loving and caring for each other. Oh, how I wish I would see this kind of scene all the time. Unfortunately, this is not so. Sometimes, they were mean to each other. They fight as if they were not brothers at all. I know it’s normal for children to show sibling rivalry especially for kids with only 1 to 2 years age gap. My husband and I kept on explaining to them that they need to understand and be considerate of each other’s feelings. We explained to Kuya Kyle that he has to learn to be patient with his little brother Harley and control his temper. They should learn to adjust each other’s individual differences. We know for sure that at this stage, they still do not know the value of taking care for each other’s feelings.

Look How They’ve Grown!

Look-How-They’ve-Grown

I was surprised to see how my kids have grown. I could still imagine 3 years ago when we were cuddling them in our arms. They were too young and vulnerable then. Too dependent upon us. Look at them now! They can now talk clearly and walk independently on their own. They have minds of their own. When they think of something they want to do, they are too impulsive to put into action. I couldn’t believed how resourceful they were in finding ways to do what they had in mind. For instance, they once thought of building a play house just like the three little pigs in their favorite bedtime story. They made walls out of our pillows. They requested me to make a roof of their playhouse. I then made use of our blanket to make a roof making them very proud and happy playing house pretend.

Bonding with Kids

Bonding-with-Kids

This is one of our kids’ memorable moments with their Papa when the latter had a chance to come home early from work one cloudy day. The kids were so happy that it rained late in the afternoon just in time when their papa arrived home earlier than usual. They were so excited to ask permission from him to go out and take a bath in the rain. Papa took this seldom opportunity to bond with the kids. He accompanied them playing and having fun out in the rain. The 2 kids were playing in the rain naked but they never complained of feeling cold although it is obvious that they were shivering. The kids had a wonderful time that day.
