Picture-taking with Jollibee Mascot
Some of our guests during Harley’s 2nd birthday looked forward to the picture-taking part of the program. They want to take souvenir photos with Jollibee. For who would not be proud to be standing next to this popular mascot of the no. 1 food chain in the country? I guess, almost everybody knows who Jollibee is. His smiling and friendly nature makes him adorable to the Filipino people. As to our guests, they took turns as Jollibee approached them, carrying and giving kids a pat on their back. It’s nice to see the children being overwhelmed by Jollibee’s surprised appearance.

A Mascot’s Appearance
One of the most awaited part in almost every children’s party is the main character’s appearance. Even though how short his appearance maybe, the kids really looked forward for it. When Harley turned 2, we gave him a birthday party at Jollibee. I could tell that the children and adults were anxious to see Jollibee as he came out from his hideout. He begun his entertainment show with a dance number together its company’s crew as his back-up dancers. This drew all the guests’ attention towards him. You could see the different reactions of the kids–some were afraid while others were eager to see and hug this friendly mascot. I found it funny that some kids were afraid that they cried and screamed while others flocked closer to witness jollibee’s talent performed live.

Kyle’s 4th Birthday
We cancelled our reservation at RR Spring Resort, Maramag, Bukidnon a few days before Kyle’s birthday. We planned to stay at the resort for an overnight together with Jojo’s and my immediate family. However, because of the tragedy brought about the typhoon sendong that hit our city on December 17, 2011 causing a great destruction in properties and living thousands of people dead and others homeless. Even though we were spared by the flood but we were saddened by the sad fate of some of our fellow Cagayanons. My husband and I decided to divert our budget for Kyle’s birthday to purchase relief goods instead to be distributed to the flood victims in our neighboring area. But to make Kyle’s wish come true, we ordered an “angry bird” birthday cake for him to blow candles on. We also have a simple dinner at home in the presence of a few relatives and friends.

A Valued Couple
My Husband and I attended his first cousin, Bebeth and Romel’s (the groom) Church wedding at Mt. Carmel Church, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro. We were one of the secondary sponsors of the said wedding. I was touched by how the couple valued the Sacrament of Matrimony so much since they both desired to be wedded in the eyes of God despite the fact that they already had civil wedding before they had been living-in together. It has been ten years and they have had 2 kids who are both at school age. At the reception, each of the couple was given the chance to speak in front of the guests. Bebeth said that it’s been her fervent wish to be wedded in the Church since she always felt guilty facing God every time she goes to mass. Ever since she was living in with Romel, she never allowed herself to receive the holy communion.

Perfect Place to Unwind
This is the current photo taken at Xavier Estates Sports and Country Club during our two-day family vacation. The memories during our honeymoon quickly flashed back in my mind by the time when we arrived at the club. I could still remember exactly the chalet where we stayed after our wedding reception including its exterior and interior appearance. I could even recall that my husband promised to me that someday we would come back to this place again not as a couple but as a family. And now the time is here. Our vision did came true. We were back to the place we dearly loved 7 years thereafter but with the kids, of course. With our beloved children, it was indeed a perfect place to unwind.
